The Power of Prayer Triplets CMOS
When Ana was 15 years old she heard about the “prayer triplet strategy” (3×3) – a way for students to pray together for their school.
She asked God to provide two friends to form a prayer triplet and two responded. Every week they prayed for their school. Each time they met they prayed for the needs of other students. And they asked God to allow everyone at their school to hear about the good news of Jesus and have the chance to know Christ personally.
Within one month of praying as a triplet, Ana and her friends saw God respond. Through an unexpected assembly program and an evening meeting that followed, a former professional athlete spoke and their entire school had the opportunity to hear about the new life Christ can give. God was beginning to answer their prayer.
This should not surprise us. In Matthew 18:18-20 Jesus said:
“I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I tell you that if two or three of you on earth agree about anything you ask for; it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” (NIV)
Jesus promises his response when we pray in unity. That is what prayer triplets are about!
Here’s how to start… even when we are restricted by COVID we can do this virtually…
3 friends. You and two others. You will encourage one another and you hold each other accountable. That’s a great start!
Meet 3 times a week to pray. Arrange your schedule to pray whenever you like – before school, after school, free time, at night, on the weekend, on the phone or Zoom. You get the idea. Work it out together. Just make sure you get 15-25 minutes together when you meet to pray.
Pray for 3 friends who need Christ. Pray for their needs trusting God to open that their minds and hearts to receiving Christ. Pray for those 3 friends every time you meet to pray. Who comes to your mind? Ask God how He wants to use you to share God’s love with them.
Take the step now!
I will pray with:
Prayer Partner #1 (your name)
Prayer Partner #2
Prayer Partner #3
We will meet 3 times a week at:
Time #1
Time #2
Time #3
I will pray for my school and friends who need to know Christ:
Friend #1
Friend #2
Friend #3
Prayer is the fuel that moves us to action in loving our friends. Imagine the change that could happen when Christians at your school begin to pray like this!
